“I just need a refuel,” Luke tells the droids, carefully throwing his legs over the edge of the cockpit to slide to the ground. Grogu coos softly, his hands opening and closing his three fingers.
“Not a problem, we’ll have you—ready to go...” She trails off when she gets a look at the child, who begins babbling. The Force moves around her in happiness then surprise, shock, then something akin to anger sparking faster than a thermal detonator. Before he can open his mouth, in a move that would have left Han impressed, she has a blaster in hand and shot him in the face.

“It’s done. I’m not gonna be a Talon agent, but I’ll join you.” Reaper never takes his eyes off Widowmaker. With easy motions, she vaults off the balcony and lands before him. He watches her as she saunters up to him, putting her rifle on her shoulder. Dead and distant, she smiles, "Salut, Reaper."
[When the closest bonds break]
They can try to change it, modify it, make it easier for a normal soldier, but it won’t work. He knows. The heavy pulse rifle had been made for him. Behind the visor Jack smiles. Add this to the list of “things that will help him destroy the world.” And god, he’s gonna feel great while doing it.
[All you can do]
Gabriel’s wearing a stylized skull mask, the eyes dark, the cheeks hollow - shells and carrier containers strapped across his chest and hips. He’s still twirling the shotguns in his hands, when - (He stops, because there’s a figure in the south tunnel - their face masked in reds, hefting a heavy pulse rifle, left hand raised to their visor -)
He stops. And Jack stops. And even though neither of them can actually see the other’s face they make eye contact.

Summary
In a twist of the original events of TFTBL, both Vaughn and Rhys made it back to Helios with the girls. But shortly after Rhys made it to Jack's office, his obsessive hero worship was revealed, and the girls disappeared (along with the Gortys piece), leaving the guys to pick up where they left off.
Rhys was back to data mining. When Handsome Jack returned to power, he had naively expected more. After being more or less abandoned by Jack, Rhys wallowed in his misery at the bottom of the corporate ladder, until one day, a chance discovery earned him a promotion. But as he starts his first day at his new job, one thought lingers at the back of Rhys' mind.
