The car trip home from Gillon, Louisiana
“Fine,” Eliot snaps, “but no more stops after this. I just wanna get home so I can finally sleep.”
“Just sleep in the car after we eat,” Parker says, “I’m driving, so you got nothing to worry about.” She smiles innocently.
“You driving is exactly why I gotta be worried, and you know I can never sleep in a moving car.”
“And the food-truck check-up 3 years ago when I drove the entire length of Nebraska while you lay with your eyes closed was what? Practicing your astral projection?”A small coda to the Shakedown in Clone-Town Job.

Summary
From the time Charlie was 13, he heard many stories about his uncle, Michael Westen, and how he used to be a spy. Michael and Fiona's daughter, Claire, also grew up with those stories. Raised in that household, they learned tradecraft practically at their mother's knee, so it's no surprise that they want to go into the family business of taking on jobs to help people, even if sometimes the methods get a little outside the law.
Charlie prefers to do his work from behind the safety of a screen, and he becomes an expert hacker. He happens to make an online friend, who happens to be in a similar line of work, providing people with Leverage to help take down big companies that are screwing people over. Hardison and Charlie become friends, and then start helping each other with jobs.
One day, the leverage crew need an extra grifter, and Charlie suggests Claire. The meeting starts out well until Eliot gets suspicious that there's something off about the two, and he's determined to protect his family from the potential threat.

“For a man formidable and even equal to Yusef himself in battle, the frank sure seemed hopeless at everything else.
Again, habibi, really?”
ElephantOfAfrica pointed out that (paraphrased):
Habibi does indeed mean ‘My Love’ and grammatically it's being used correctly, but the reality of day to day life for Arabic speakers is a little bit different. It’s very, very casual and very versatile; it's not special. Some people use it when they're gearing up for a fight 😂 like "oh yeah Habibi?!" Fists up a-hole!!! Like it can mean babe, or honey, or you fucker, or are-you-trying-to-charge-me-extra-for-2-kilos-of-tomato?-fuck-you, or what-do-mean-your-mom-sent-us-dinner-again?-are-you-complaining-about-my-cooking-to-her? 👀👀 In general, there’s an incredibly passive aggressive energy it holds.
So this language plot-hole fixit got stuck in my head and wouldn’t leave. This is how Joe started calling Nicky “habibi,” and how the word became theirs.

Summary
He had tried not to be offended when she asked him to look after the kid, not because it was any kind of imposition—he'd killed better people for way less—but because she felt the damn need to ask in the first place. Daisuke looked after his own, and the MacLeods were his, or more accurately he was theirs, hers, had been since she descended like an angel from the heavens, shining silver curls and a knife-sharp grin and warm wrinkles around her eyes, and whisked him away to the skies. She may not have been his wife anymore, but that didn’t really change much; he would love her until the day somebody put a bullet between his eyes.

Summary
Emotions are… fiddly. She can’t grab onto them, hold them close, and inspect them like she does the stuff she steals. What’s the difference between attraction and love? Is it sex? That seems too simple, and emotions are never simple. Sophie taught her that. But Hardison taught her that things don’t have to be complicated, that going with the flow isn't as bad as she thought it would be.
“You know,” Parker starts, “before I met you all, things were so much simpler.”
What was it Eliot said when they were conning those Nana-Haters? ‘Parker has a very binary sense of right and wrong.’ Before the team got together, she saw the world in black and white. Now she can see shades of gray. There are even hints of color when she closes her eyes.
(or: the aftermath of the Polygeist Job, featuring a Parker who's been through enough therapy to detangle some of her feelings)
