    Previous works I was working on that are, as the tin says, Dead in the Water. They AREN'T up for adoption, and most of these are things that I warrant revisiting at one point or another, but I figured some people would appreciate seeing previous drafts of works up here, much like my Snippits and Musing, and Musing in a Song Series. Of her several epitaphs, she had been the Dark One, that it was her son Eros who sowed chaos at her whim and at her feet, and that the gods feared love as much as they craved it. That another of her names was Ishtar, as surely as it was also Venus, goddess of war and beauty and love and defier of death.

    When the daughter of Aphrodite, touched by Death, looks across the face of lost Percy Jackson, she certainly remembers all about her godly parent, because she had been a mythology scholar in her first life, and she hears the call of war as she looks into sea-green eyes.

    Or Sena Strand is much like her mother, and when something is her’s, she plays for keeps.

    There was no stench related to putrefaction even three days after having fallen on the beach. Which was odd, to say the least. But even weirder was what they could make of the creature’s unusual anatomy.

    The thing had wings, see, but it had too many of them — and just wings. Bird wings that definitely did not belong to birds because they were all disproportionately long and had way too many joints to have evolved on the earth. In fact, the bones holding together their wings were more like multi-sectioned spines than limbs.

    And little did they know, the thing wasn't dead.
