Summary
The Clone Wars have just begun. With the Jedi spread thin, 9 year old Cal Kestis doesn't have anyone to help him control his psychometry. With Jaro Tapal in too dangerous a situation to take on a padawan, he's sent to Obi-Wan Kenobi instead, much to the dismay of Anakin. However he and Cal will have to put aside their differences and work together in order to stay alive for the next battle of the Clone Wars.

It wasn’t healthy, he knew that, but he also was aware that he had an obsessive personality, and looking too deeply into this would just drive him more insane then he already felt. It got… not exactly easier, as time went by, but more bearable. There was never a time he could forget about it, but he had gotten so used to it that by now that it was normal to him. He wasn’t happy, and sometimes he wished that he’d just died that day ten years ago, but the thought of leaving his brother behind usually put an end to that train of thought."

The first time Castiel sees Sam really laugh, it takes him by surprise. They are sitting in a hotel bed, talking, when it blooms out like a roar, Sam’s body comes to life and glows. It’s—gorgeous.
Castiel is enchanted.
Human’s describe Heaven as Light and Divinity, full of peace and enlightenment. It sounds nothing like the home that Castiel was familiar with.
If that is what Heaven is, though, Castiel thinks, then—this is where Heaven must be. What Heaven must be.

“Maybe you just need to be reminded of your place”, Chuck muses. “I didn’t want it to come to this, but… You leave me no other choice. So, I thought I’d give you a friendly reminder of what I can do to you.” Chuck settles onto a chair he just magicked out of thin air, folding his legs as he rests his chin on his hand, watching Lucifer’s fingers travel up Sam’s throat, their touch deceptively gentle. Sam expects violence, tries to cower from it, memories of the cage wafting up unbidden, but then Chuck smiles. “Don’t worry, Sam. He’s not gonna torture you. Not right now anyway. ‘Cause, you were right, I do like to watch and I’m kinda done with gore for tonight."
