The first letter Tingyun sent was to Doctor Ruan Mei’s lab in the Seclusion Zone of the Herta Space Station, the only mailing address she knew of. Correspondence was more difficult to establish than one might think in this highly-partitioned modern world, a heterogeneous network consisting of many planets all with their own local communications systems, which required specialised technology to interface with each other. And especially so with a reclusive genius who accepted no awards or fellowships at universities and didn’t even have a website. Two weeks later it came back, opened, but now with an updated address scrawled over the blank side.
(Tingyun writes letters to the scientist Ruan Mei, and eventually hitches many rides including a stint on a boat of Mourning Actors and a cross-galaxy nomad train, all to meet up with her new friend on her girlfriend’s space station.)

The best post apocalyptic AU with S tier world building that I’ve ever read.
(And I'd go as far as to say the best Cynari and Alhaitham/Kaveh slow burn romance I've ever read) -

Summary
Kaveh has many tendencies that are just fundamentally different from the way Alhaitham sees things. It's not that Alhaitham doesn't understand, but he simply doesn't agree.
The way he throws his entire heart into the most trivial of things, fully knowing he'll be battered and broken by the time he discovers things weren't as beautiful as he hoped. The way he keeps doing this, despite knowing the risks. The way he won't even consider a single word of advice Alhaitham gives him, just because of its source.
He tries to place himself in the other man's shoes sometimes, but their interpretations of the important things in life are simply so different, all it amounts to are misunderstandings and slammed doors.
Alhaitham is just trying to help. Kaveh might not believe him when he says this, but he doesn't like to see Kaveh suffer.

OR: Kaveh gets his dreams crushed by a rude old man and Alhaitham is just trying to keep him from getting hurt too much.
