All of the imagery and metaphors make me dizzy! I love it! It reminds me of one of my favorite authors, Ray Bradbury.
Now that the fic is finished I AM dizzy. Read if you want an existential crisis about whether you really understood Kunikidazai or if you've just been schooled about it.

Senku pressed the heels of his palms against his eyes and took a deep breath, preparing himself.
After a moment he sat up, the throbbing in the back of his skull worsening in protest, and looked over to where he’d left the pencil.
It wasn’t there.
He hauled himself to his feet and moved to stand dumbfounded in front of his desk.
Sitting in the pencil pot was the pencil, still whole and mocking him.
Senku didn’t believe in magic or miracles or curses or whatever, but even he couldn’t deny this.
It would seem that somehow, against all common sense, he was stuck in a time loop.

Maybe possibly the most fulfilling fic I've ever read on ao3? Anyway, this is crazy. Anyone who is insane enough to go through my bookmarks, read this if you love Dr. Stone. Actually, screw that. Read this even if you don't love Dr. Stone. It's really good. Like, really really good. I recommend. If you don't like the soulmate trope, still read this, it's worth it. If you don't like timeloops, it's not just about timeloops, trust. Don't mind me becoming a broken record.
