Summary
Over a decade before Team RWBY would begin Beacon Academy, Summer Rose left her family on a secretive and dangerous mission, one that could free Remnant from a dark power known only to a handful of Ozpin's inner circle. It was a mission that only she, and her former teammate Raven Branwen, had the unique combination of skills to complete successfully.

Summary
Two years ago, Jacques Schnee had wielded words as bitterly keen weapons, cutting deeply into his own wife's soul. Four simple words.

Such simple words. Such a devastating blow. Driving her to seek refuge in alcohol from a life turned into a lie. Drink became a sweet absolution that cushioned her from the pain, but also drove a wedge between her and the only things she had left, her children and her own self-worth.
And then a simple mistake nearly cost Willow Schnee her life, and threw her into the path of a rakish Atlesian Huntsman who had already faced and beaten his own share of demons.
Saving the life of an Atlesian Lady is one matter. Saving her from herself is the more difficult task.

The thing is, when Anakin figures it out, is that it all obviously has been there, if he’d only cared to look for it.
And, admittedly, he is angry. Mostly at himself, which isn’t something that happens very often, so it’s an especially harrowing realization.
All these years, he thinks, I’ve been so blind. I was so busy ignoring everything I didn’t want to think about and blaming everyone else for things not under their control that I didn’t stop to look at the bigger picture.
He sighs and leans back in his chair to gaze at the ceiling.
If only, he laments, true remorse coloring his thoughts, I had started watching period holodramas earlier.
OR, how Plo Koon watching and subsequently introducing Ahsoka to Star Wars’ version of Downton Abbey changes Anakin's life path like nothing else could.

Summary
A year after the Battle of Beacon, Atlas remains isolated from the world. Penny patrols the streets of Mantle on the orders of Ironwood, fighting Grimm and reinforcing breached areas. She continues her mission until a familiar face arrives, twisted, tormented, and under the control of something far beyond her knowledge. She has a new mission now, and nothing is going to stop her from saving the first friend she made.
