“Hey!” Ortegas raises her hands defensively. “I wasn’t trying to get you married. I was thinking you’d talk a little then go get a room and…”
“It was not a little talking.” La’an shakes her head. Her hand clenches involuntarily as she says. “And I’m not sure I want… whatever you thought that date would be.”
A moment goes by where Ortegas’ expression shifts. Her mouth closes, pinching up at one end, but mostly her eyes change. They soften.
“So I should be trying to get you married?” She ends up asking.OR

The security officer smiled and plopped the bowl between them partly out of view from wandering eyes. She too plucked one from the bowl. "Got to make sure we keep up your strength, can't have you down here too long."
Una licked the strawberry juice off her fingers and threw her friend a knowing look. "Is it that bad being acting first officer?"
A missing scene from episode 4 'memento mori', featuring Number One and La'an. A little, well a lot of comfort is required after that episode. I'm so proud of La'an for facing her past like that, and I feel Una would be too.

“Let me tell you about a place! Somewhere up-a New York way,” Kate croons, happily along with the music spilling from her phone. The warm steady hand on Yelena’s waist encourages her to meet the archer’s jaunty movements as she swings them around the apartment. It’s a little graceless and ridiculous; however, Yelena thinks Kate’s face might be radiating actual rays of pure sunlight, so she finds that she doesn’t really mind. “Where the people are so gay!”
“Well, this is very gay, yes,” Yelena mutters under the trill of the trumpet.
“I’m glad you think so!” Kate laughs in between breaths as she continues singing.
OR
After spending most of her life bent to the will of the Red Room, every phrase and opinion uttered feels original - every experience feels new. Something can’t be over-used if you’ve never had the opportunity to use it in the first place, right? So, when Yelena says kissing Kate was ‘life-changing’, then she’d argue that the cliché doesn’t count if it’s meant literally.
