That is because I take contracts that I know I will win. And yet here you are, trying to bat those pretty blues at me to get me to fight the fucking Batman. Who, as you’ve briefed, is likely well within a berserk stage. And you want me to fight him without killing him.”

Dick gets a call in the midst of his heat informing him that Bruce has been kidnapped and is likely compromised due to an Ivy concoction. Dick refuses to get any of his family involved, well aware how dangerous Bruce is when in a rage. Slade is unfortunately the only person Dick can think of that can go toe to toe with a feral Batman long enough for a rescue.
