It’s embarrassing how time screeches to a maddening stop within Magnus’ world. Alec Lightwood is—how do you say—fucking beautiful. It takes all of Magnus to not say the words aloud. His head of security extends a hand, and Magnus tries not to too enthusiastically take the offered handshake. Alec Lightwood’s palm is warm against his, roughened at certain points of contact, and he can’t help but file away the little piece of information for himself.
“Looking forward to working with you, sir.” Alec says, respectful but authoritative.
Magnus feels like imploding.
“Not as much as I am.”
