John is not quite sure of his role in the new and fragile team he's ended up with. He isn't used to not being assigned one after all these years. Everyone else seems to fall into some duty or other—leader, strategist, moral compass, father figure, muscle—all of them are pieces falling in a puzzle that John can't seem to fill because the others fit better, and the thought slowly pushes him into a frustrated despair.
Or; John slowly spirals, becoming one with the sofa.
