Summary
If you had told Chet a year ago that he'd be heading to the east side nearly daily, he'd have told you you were insane, but, here he is. Chet remembers his eyes from the rumble, how could he not? They were face to face punching each other, there were tears in his eyes then, but now, all Chet sees in them is an infectious sort of joy.
Or
Chet gets to know the greaser he fought during the rumble, things donr go the way he expected.

Summary
Chet watches Soda and he can't help but notice how beautiful he is. He's all smiles and his eyes are lit up in the way they only do when Soda is truly happy, and Chet thinks for a moment that he wants to see that smile for the rest of his life.
As hard as Chet tries to just love Soda, (which he thinks should be easier than anything he's ever done), Chet still always has the thought of his father looming over his head. Everybody in Tulsa knows his father, the police chief. His father takes his reputation extremely seriously and for as long as Chet can remember, his father has always told him how important it was that he didn't ruin that.
Or
Chet is trying his best.

Summary
The tall buildings of New York feel like a thick layer of protection around them, letting them create a new world that's just the two of them, one where they can go home tonight and hold each other close. One where they can sit here together and sing and not have to worry about greaser or soc. Is it perfect? No. But it is everything the two boys have dreamed of, ever since that day freshman year when they kissed for the first time and they both felt more fear and love and hope then they ever had before.
Or
Paul and Darry find their place in New York City as they make new friends and get a gig singing at a local bar

Summary
“Come with me,” Paul had whispered in his ear. Darry turned to look at him.
“What?” Darry said.
“Come with me,” a faint smile had made its way across Paul's face, “to New York. Come with me,” Darry hadn't known what to say, he just kept looking at Paul, seeing if he could find any trace of a lie in the familiar lines of Paul's face, but all he could find was honesty and love.
Or
Paul and Darry actually make it out of Tulsa

Summary
Darry glances away for the first time in their conversation, and Paul knows they can't keep doing this, so Paul takes the opportunity to swing his fist while Darry's not looking because he doesn't think he could look him in the eyes while he throws the first punch. His fist connects with Darry's jaw, and the rumble begins.

Shity choices lead to shity things, so they'll call you a monster, but there's always a chance you could make this better. Even if there's death involved. by BoredomFeedsInsanity

Summary
Darry kills someone as a teenager and surprisingly everything doesn't go to shit. A teenager shouldn't have had to kill someone, but those shity events can lead to something much better. It takes a while to get there though. As well as more stupid choices, but they get there eventually.

Summary
Bucky Barnes was cold.
He felt like he’d been cold for months now; doing nothing but experiencing one unending chill after another. He’d been cold in England, and again in Italy, and again especially in Austria – both while he was kept in an underground cell, and when he was strapped without cover to the unforgiving metal of Zola’s lab table.
But Steve… Steve Rogers was sunshine. Everything about him was warm, from his crinkly-eyed smile to his white-hot rage. Steve was Coney Island on a summer’s day; lying back on high rooftops to watch fireworks on the 4th of July; drinking stolen whiskey in his parent’s living room…
Loving Steve was a fact – simple and plain, like breathing air or bleeding red; loving Steve was soldered into his skin like a tattoo – it buzzed in his brain like its own kind of high. It was a part of who he was.- Language:
