Summary
I was watching the latest Sonic trailer and thought it would be great if they involved Mario or maybe Detective Pikachu in a crossover. There's one problem, though, Mario is animated, while the Sonic and Pikachu movies are CGI and live-action. There's only been one live-action Mario movie and it was terrible--I doubt Nintendo would ever attempt anything like that again.
In either case, though, it made me feel like revisiting the 1993 Mario movie and writing something of a mock sequel to it that's hopefully closer to the games while maintaining that dark and gritty noir flavor.
