The Continent was used to the occasional visitors from other dimensions, but when a trap surrounding the doors of the Tomb sends Gideon and Aiglamene hurtling to a new home, Gideon finds herself with a new calling, and maybe a better chance at having a life. A series of oneshots set in a 'Gideon joins the Witcher's Bear School and gets to be a little bit happier' AU (This is my first fic in a LONG time, any feedback would be really appreciated)

Summary
At the end of Gideon the Ninth Gideon and Harrow achieve perfect lyctorhood which sets them on a crash course right into the events of Harrow the Ninth. Something’s weird with the Sixth house, there’s infighting on the Mith aplenty, Gideon goes from no parents to too many parents, Gideon can’t tell if Harrow wants to kiss or not and unfortunately Ianthe is still here.

Summary
“It’s okay. I know a guy.” Ellie likes talking about Joel like he’s her mob lackey or something. Makes everything feel a little less looming and leering and lethal. She called Joel "a guy" when it came to getting an extra slice of pie or getting outside of Jackson's walls when she needed a day off of school, when she couldn’t fucking stomach it anymore. He told her to cut it out whenever she called him that. It was a bit. She liked all of their bits these days. “He’ll get you out too.”
“I’m Ellie," she volunteers though she doesn't want to. This woman isn’t an enemy. She’s as caged in as Ellie, worn down to the point that she barely had her wits left about her. There was a look in people’s eyes when they got that way, when they’d started giving up hope. Ellie would fucking know.
The woman shakes something loose from her bones, digs her teeth against her lip before she answers, “I’m Sarah.”
Ellie snorts. “Yeah,” she says with only the edges of humor clinging on. “He’ll definitely fucking save you.”
or: On Outbreak Night Joel and Tommy are separated from Sarah. They spend the next twenty-one years assuming each other is dead. Until Ellie and Sarah find each other in the same awful circumstances.

Summary
They were supposed to be back before sunset.
Now the sun is setting, and they’re still not here.
Joel tries to avoid looking out the window, to the orange and pink that streak across the sky in watercolor. It’s a warm night with a pleasant breeze and a cloudless sky. On any other night, he’d be sitting out on the porch or standing in his yard, waiting for the stars, the one constant across all stages of his life. Now, he just feels sick. His chest tightens with each passing minute.
He closes the curtains in Maria and Tommy’s kitchen before lifting JJ from his highchair, wiping off his face, which is sticky with peach juice. The baby lets out an ear-splitting shriek the moment he does so. Lovely.
“Such a drama queen,” Dina says from behind him, her sleeves rolled up to her elbows as she washes the plates from dinner.
“He gets it from his great uncle.” Joel says.
Joel lives to experience the heart-pounding reality of having a grown kid who rides into battle.
Ft. Grandpa Joel
