Satoru takes another step forwards, arms spreading wide in excitement, “Yūji-kun! You’re here!”
“Oh my God,” the child repeats breathlessly, sounding far older than any child his age should sound, unable to tear his eyes away from Satoru. The boy shakes faintly, shock maybe, words a shaky exhale, “it’s really- you’re- you look- this is— oh my God!”
Annnnd there’s really no doubting it now.
Clearly those vivid dreams of war, imprisonment and eleven years of growing up is not the dream Satoru had thought it to be since waking up in the infirmary as a seventeen-year-old student, way back before the source of all his problems defected from Jujutsu society.

Such tales include the story about how he would always inform the spiritmancer whenever he would find a frog along the stream, the story of how he would be the sole one to stay awake accompanying the ancient dragon’s overnight drinking, the story of how he would use his body as a shield to protect the others from harsh winds whenever they would set up camp, and the story of what it means to be a human to the ill-speaking King of the Dead.
