That was the promise of the sky to the creatures upon it: The sun may set, but it would rise again, forever and always.
Goku wakes on Mount Paozu in the aftermath of his Grandfather’s death, but he doesn’t know it yet.

The dead girl was already cold. Kaine touched her shoulder with a gloved hand, kneeling next to her on the ground. She was the third he’d found in two months; like the other two, she was young – somewhere in her teenage years, he guessed, sixteen or seventeen – and slight and blonde, dressed in a tattered white dress. Her unseeing grey eyes were fixed up on the sliver of sky visible between buildings.
He wanted to shed his glove and close her eyes for her, one last respect for someone who’d seen too little of it, but he couldn’t. He had to be careful. Leaving his DNA at the scene of a crime was the same as leaving Peter’s, after all. The obvious implications of that aside, he wasn’t looking forward to running back into his “brother” anytime soon, not after how they’d left things last.
An abomination, Peter had said. A worthless mockery of humanity. Just like all clones.
Kaine clenched his jaw tight.

Since the Secretary of Defense did try to murder both of them today, Steve can't exactly tell Tony he's wrong about either of those things -- but, unfortunately, Tony doesn't remember who Steve is. And, even more unfortunately, Steve taught Tony to fight.

Johnny and Peter fall into a wormhole and are sent careening across the universe together. With no hope of rescue, they end up having to figure out their own way home, which isn't as easy as it sounds.
To make matters worse, Johnny's been in love with Peter for a long, long, long time. Nothing's happened ever because Peter doesn't seem too interested, but now Johnny's stuck alone in space with the guy of his dreams and a whole lot of feelings that just won't go away.

Dammit. Johnny just wanted Peter to kiss him. Was it really too much to ask after years of selflessly saving the planet? Johnny deserved that much, universe.Really he deserved all of the hot guys, gals, aliens, and so on kissing him that he wanted, and he only wanted Peter. He was being reasonable, universe, and yet you still couldn’t come through for him, could you?
Johnny found the universe very disappointing. He ranked it right near the top of his list of the most disappointing things he’d ever come across. Somewhere near The Matrix sequels and that pair of skinny jeans that had made him look anything but.

Peter Parker has just started college. He’d been certain this would be different from high school. He’d make friends. He’d be almost popular. Too bad that those precious first few weeks he’d been too wrapped up in Aunt May’s condition, rushing to and from the hospital, to do any kind of socialising and now that the fog is lifted he finds himself once again unpopular and alienated, with the sole exception of one classmate - Johnny Storm. Johnny is an enigma. Cheerful, weird, and shockingly handsome, Peter doesn’t really know what to make of his new friend.
Spider-Man returns, dusting off his mask and swinging his way through New York, but there’s a newcomer he’s relieved appears to be friend not foe. Night by night he catches glimpses of a flaming man - a Human Torch - until eventually they meet face to face. Working as allies proves to be successful, and Spider-Man is glad of the burgeoning friendship.
