The clearing he’s in is completely empty. He doesn’t recognize it at all.
A twig snaps from somewhere behind him, bringing him out of his thoughts, and Dimitri immediately tenses, senses going on high alert. He whips his head towards the noise, hand tightening around his weapon as he whirls around and steadies himself into a defensive stance in order to face–
A child.

A very familiar looking child.
