Peacetime is a rarity, one Shadow never truly got to experience... until now. With no real threats at work, Shadow is urged to take advantage of this brief moment and settle down somewhere for the time being. With much reluctance, Shadow does just that.
However, with the peace and quiet to reflect on his life, his loss, and the relationships he's built up (or avoided), Shadow finds he has a lot to catch up on since coming out of stasis.

“No!” Maria exclaimed so loudly Shadow flinched. “You’ll find someone! You’ll make new memories! Remember, you can always find a new home! Go!” she prodded, and suddenly, she started glowing, as did the entire room. Then she grabbed Shadow and pushed. The room faded, disappeared into the black abyss like the last embers of a dying flame. Maria’s words echoed in Shadow’s ears.
“You’ll find someone! You’ll make new memories! Remember, you can always find a new home! Go!”
Then things went black again.
______________Sonic lost the Master Emerald. Shadow has it, returns it, and that's how he gets a new family.
