A thought struck him like a bell.
‘If I give him what he wants, then he won't go.’
Dean leaned down, watching as Cas’ eyes widened and breath hitched. He kissed him on the corner of his mouth, the briefest press of his lips, and pulled away just enough to see his reaction.
His lips went slightly numb as residual shadow clung to them. It was kind of gross, but worth it for Cas’ expression.
“Missed you,” Dean said. He had to get the truth out before he lied straight to Cas’ face. “Me too, okay? Just, uh, everything you said. Me too.”
____They get Cas back from the Empty, but Dean’s still scared he’s going to leave again. If its for Cas’ sake, if he can get him to stay, Dean will do just about anything, even pretend to be in a relationship with him.

Summary
So he finds himself standing in the middle of a run-down motel, letting himself be dressed by a human.
He doesn’t quite remember getting from there to here, but it doesn’t matter. This human’s soul is good, and so he trusts. There is nothing else to do.
“I only got one bed, but, uh, we can share,” the human says. He radiates nervous energy, and Castiel supposes that a bloody angel- fallen angel- showing up on your doorstep would be quite disorienting. Then again, humans used to worship angels almost to the level that they worshiped God. Perhaps times have not changed, and the human is simply awe-struck.
“I don’t sleep,” Castiel says, and then he blacks out.

Summary
The world is saved, Chuck has been defeated, and with the help of Amara and Jack, they managed to rescue Cas from the Empty. It's over. It's all over.
So, what now?
Sam wants to continue on as a Man of Letters and help other hunters and Dean and Cas want to open up a Roadhouse-style bar, but old habits die hard, and it’s surprisingly easy to fall back into their established routine of monsters and hunting - that is until they run into trouble on a case and have to take a step back and evaluate what’s truly important.
Just when it seems like things are finally falling into place, an old friend returns and they discover there's still one of Chuck’s messes they need to clean up. The cosmic forces at the top may have a plan to fix it, but it’s Dean who will have to play the pivotal role.
In order to do so, he’ll have to confront his past, face up to who he really is and acknowledge just how far he's willing to go to get the job done.
One thing’s for sure, though: this is their story and he refuses to let it end as a tragedy. They deserve better. They’ve earned the chance to be free.
