Summary
It was a serene day in Mondstadt, the City of Freedom. Laughter and songs filled the air as soft winds caressed the walls and cobblestone streets. However, high in the sky, a dark shadow loomed over Teyvat. Celestia had begun to act in the shadows, and her first target was Venti, also known as Barbatos, the Anemo Archon.

The Archons must have a meeting every millennia. During the last meeting some higher ups in Celestia want the meeting to be public to mortals and immortals both. The Archons negotiatiated so that only the mortals see and, so the immortals could not see the meeting.
Present time
1000 years laterVenti is enjoying time with his mortal lover Diluc in bliss. He only now realizes that the time for the meeting is near and that Morax will be hosting this year. Morax can say bye to his retirement plans. He finds his husbands suffering greatly amusing.

He realizes the day of the meeting that he is going to have to reveal his own identity too.

When Venti finds a stranger in his apartment that he was sure he left locked, he certainly didn't expect this.
“Hello Venti,” the golden-haired stranger says, his lips turning upwards to a soft, sad sort of smile. Venti can’t help but feel that this type of smile doesn't fit his face. Too sad. Too fragile. “I’m Aether, and you died to save me and my sister.”
What.
“What?”
Or: Venti keeps housing strangers who know him somehow in his cramped, one-bedroom apartment. He has multiple questions about the situation he finds himself in but hey, at least he isn't quite so lonely anymore. It's the little wins.

Summary
Being the outcast of the Seven was never easy. Neither was being judged for his drinking habits, or thought by others to take everything for granted, not deserving his position between the Seven.
But what helped was that they never pronounced those thoughts aloud, so Barbatos could act as if he never noticed the cold stares, the judging looks. That was until he came in late to one of their most important meeting.
So what happens when Barbatos goes missing, and the only sign that he is alive is the slow and steady beating of his gnosis, connected to the other archons'?
Or an AU where the Original Seven are still alive and never died, and judge Barbatos too harshly. But we still love them.
PS: as of the 2.6 update, which is the time I started writing this fanfic, we know nothing of the former archons thus why they might be ooc, but for the sake of the story, we're going to ignore it. I just changed the name of the Dendro Archon to her original one because, for those who will see this in the future, this fanfic wasn't posted when 3.0 came out, so it was easy for me to just put Rukkhadevata instead of Kusanali.
