A pale moon hung heavy above Gehrman as he gazed upon the new hunter, cradled tenderly by the Doll. The moon had chosen many hunters to bear its mark over the decades, but never one so young. She was a girl of only twelve winters, her bright blue hair a stark contrast against the muted hues of the Hunter’s Dream.
Gehrman let out a deep, weary sigh, his gaze shifting upward to the moon. Disgust flickered across his face as he muttered a curse under his breath. With a creak of wood and steel, he turned his chair back toward the workshop, leaving the moon and its latest cruelty behind.

Mel is the sole survivor of Jinx's attack on the council thanks to the magic inside her. Having no other mages at home to guide her in understanding her newfound powers, she invites instruction from abroad: Luxanna Crownguard, the recent victor of a civil war in Demacia. None of this is anything Mel's mother is excited to hear about.
Caitlyn is completely lost in her grief. Jinx realizes she'll need actual friends now that Silco's gone. Vi struggles to decide whose side she's on. And Ekko teams up with the remnants of a scientist that Zaun had almost forgotten.

This fic was originally drafted as a 35k-word treatment on season 2 of Arcane. It has since been converted to standard prose, with each of 9 "TV episodes" being split into three chapters apiece. While this story shares some of the same bones as the official season 2, several major changes have been made in order to streamline and concretize its themes. Mel remains a politician in Piltover; Vi gets a lot more autonomy; the Firelights matter again; Isha doesn't exist 💔; the Multiverse is not a thing, but the Void is; the chem-barons don't get lost infighting; and Jinx fully commits to the war-path she thinks Silco wanted.Bookmarked by Xedornox

Summary
When Vi and him talked about the little huddled ball of blue currently sitting with her knees to her chest on his couch, Vi had been so sure the child wasn’t biologically related to Jinx. Apparently, there’s this group of people called ‘Jinxers’ running around dying their hair blue and rallying themselves behind Jinx, even though she’s never indulged them, or even spoken with any of them as far as Vi and him know.
Ekko isn’t convinced.

His solace.
The one that keeps her with him even when she’s not actually there.
His fingers twitch in defiance. Just a few inches away, he gets her. Gets every version of her he’s ever known, and every way he’s ever seen her. Every captivating smile, every teasing glance, every rebellious middle finger she’s thrown his way.
He shouldn’t, he really shouldn’t.
But god help, he reaches for it anyway– almost against his will.
He opens his sketchbook– the one he’s kept of her for many years– going through the countless new drawings he’s added since she’s arrived. He doesn’t have to wait until he runs into her in the lanes for him to get a glimpse of her. And so, with every thing she does that he can’t get out of his head, he draws it, capturing the moment in the only way he knows how to.
Even ink isn’t permanent enough in comparison to the big ‘Jinx’ engraved in him.
