Summary
Odysseus' childhood was quiet simple, as far as he remembers. Playing in the field, running around a castle, playing with sheep, and so on. Nothing special, just a life a prince would have.
Hermes, and most, if not all of Olympus have something very different to say.
Now, just as 10 year lasting Trojan War has finally ended, and it is time to return home, Odysseus now has to face the things, which he has long forgotten.

The gods weren't pleased about the whole "Persephone" thing, and this whole war is really getting in the way of Hypnos' work. So he hatches a plan to end the war that will probably not get him chained to a rock getting his liver eaten. A good 60-40% chance.
He would become Olympus' Persephone. And he would tell nobody where he was going.
But...why did he care whether there was war or not...?

Summary
Zeus thought about it for a moment. He loved Ares, in his own special way. He was disturbed by his violence, but fascinated by the skills it took to execute his aggression. He hated how much Ares looked like him, but loved how much he looked like his mother. His feelings for Ares were complicated.
It wasn’t complicated for Apollo.
Anyone who harmed Apollo would face the wrath of Zeus.
Apollo was kind where Ares was cruel. Apollo’s smile was infectious to many, his rays were warm and gentle. Zeus’ pride never faltered when he thought of Apollo. All the endless victories Apollo achieved were Zeus’ achievements, because he made this wonderful boy and only his mother could say the same. It wasn’t quite the same with Ares. He loved Ares like a father was forced to love a child. Zeus doubts he would care for Ares if he wasn’t his son, but he would love Apollo no matter the circumstances. It’s just not the same.
It never will be.
OR
Zeus' relationship with Ares has been strained for decades, and it's long past time for them to reconcile.

Summary
Thanatos has never understood why one god would want to worship another. He also has never liked the way Ares offers him blood and violence, as if he weren't the god of gentle death. So on one particularly stressful day, Thanatos finally snaps, and a great many things result from it.
