“What’s going on?” Maria asked.
“I don’t know,” Shadow replied, getting off the bed and walking to the door. After hesitating, Shadow opened the door and followed the sounds down the hallway to the main entrance.
There were bolts of blue lighting dancing across the room, and guards went down left and right by something too fast for anyone to see. The guards fired into the room, panicked, but the blue blur of lighting was relentless and soon no one was left standing.
Shadow stood at the edge of the room, eyes and mouth agape as the blue blur finally stood still, standing over the unconscious guards. It was a hedgehog! It looked like–
“Shadow,” Maria breathed out, appearing beside Shadow. “He looks just like you.”

What if instead of joining as a player Gi-hun joins as a guard during season one, A guard that just so happens to catch the attention of his boss and the current stand in for the creator of the squid Games Hwang In-ho or better known as “young-il” as he keeps his identity a secret from Gi-hun, this leads to Gi-hun becoming a manager and even go as far as to fall in love with his boss, “young-il” who treats him nicely and spoils him rotten, who's to say Gi-hun was meant to be an antagonist from the beginning?
