Summary
Jayce ran the tap a little cooler than Viktor typically liked it, so as not to irritate his back, and decided while he was at it that he was going to pamper the absolute shit out of his partner. Viktor would probably grumble about Jayce needing not go to the trouble, but he was prepared to weather that storm. All that mattered now was that he did everything in his power to ease Viktor’s pain.

Jayce grabbed the microphone with an exaggerated flourish, swaying slightly as the room spun just a little. A mixture of laughter and cheers filled the lounge, but Jayce raised his hand to shush the crowd—very serious, of course.
“All right, everyone, everyone—settle down,” he slurred into the mic, a wide, tipsy grin plastered on his face. “This... This one’s for Viktor.”
The room quieted just enough for his words to land, and Jayce swore he heard Viktor choke on his drink.
“For my partner in code. My... my genius co-dev who makes me look so much better than I actually am. And...” he paused for dramatic effect, one hand gesturing vaguely toward where Viktor sat, mouth slightly agape in disbelief, “...my love.”-------
Jayce Talis is an anxiety-ridden game developer; pair that with alcohol, an inability to sing, and a karaoke company event? You can imagine how it goes.
