    Summary

What does it feel like to be washed up at twenty four? Charlie Spring could tell you, in fact Charlie could write the book… except that’s the problem… he hasn’t written a thing he would voluntarily share with anyone for over two years. All he has to show for his early promise, his 'The Scotsman' award for most promising new play at the Edinburgh Festival, his first class degree from Cambridge and the distinction in his MA in Creative Writing is £45,000 in student debt and a massive case of writer’s block. But just as Charlie thinks his only option is to admit his mother was right, give in, go back to Kent, and train to be an accountant… exactly as she has always said he should…he meets a charming, and mysterious Frenchman.

    Summary

Charlie Spring is a PhD candidate in Data Science at UC-Berkeley where he uses his supercomputing time to analyze large datasets. He sleeps on a mat under his desk in his cubicle because rent prices in The Bay Area are insane, and roommates suck. He spends his free time pestering his librarian friend, Isaac and volunteering a few hours a week at a local pet shelter. As a lonely data nerd, he decides to start dating on the “data-driven” OK-Cupid platform, but as a data scientist, he can’t help but to optimise his approach to ensure he’s conducting a thorough search for the right partner.

This fic is completely written. It should be posted in full by the end of July 2025 or so; however the posting may be erratic/arbitrary based on beta availability. The story was inspired by two fantastic true stories told on the Moth and Story Collider podcasts, respectively. I highly recommend you listen to them, but I'd wait until after you've finished the fic. The story will start T (for language, mainly), raise to M (starting at chapter 8) and will eventually earn the E rating for smut.

    Summary

After a few tough years, Charlie Spring has finally hit his stride. He’s the Head Cidermaker for Appelle, where he crafts high-end European-style ciders. When Elle, his best friend and the owner of the company, hires an outside consulting company to help them keep their doors open, Charlie finds himself in his literal worst-case scenario: having to work with Nick Nelson, a finance bro with the palate of a toddler.

Will these two let their differences ferment under the surface, or can Charlie use his cidermaking skills to transform this rotten situation into something worth savoring?

    Summary

Charlie Spring is a single dad, a writer, and absolutely not in love with his son’s preschool teacher—or so he tells himself. Between raising four-year-old Remy, juggling work, and healing from a messy divorce, the last thing he needs is a crush on the kind, gorgeous Mr. Nick Nelson. But as their worlds keep colliding at drop-offs and pick-ups, Charlie wonders if maybe, just maybe, love could find him when he least expects it.

    Summary

Nick Nelson has always followed the golden path carved for him—rugby, fame, expectations set in stone. He could go pro, live up to his father’s legacy, and keep wearing the mask that makes him untouchable. But beneath the victories and the reputation, he feels empty, unsure of who he is beyond the game. He’s always liked silver more than gold, always longed for something softer, something real. And for the first time, he touches silver instead of gold—when a boy with curls and dimples spills coffee on him in a campus café, pulling him out of his carefully crafted life and into something unknown.

    ---

Or when dickish Nick Nelson stumbles upon confident Charlie Spring, he's thrown for a loop on when new feelings arise and he may not be as straight as expected
