    “Oh,” Kieran said, blinking up at Gale and smiling in a friendly way that told Astarion immediately that they had not been intimate, “Hello, Gale. Care to join us for a game?”

    Gale hummed, then moved to sit next to Astarion without waiting for an invitation from the other as well. Astarion bristled, but moved further into the seat to accommodate the desperate wizard at Kieran’s bidding. “I would love to.”

    Then, as Gale’s hand brushed over Kieran’s own on top of the tile, Astarion felt the strange sensation that had begun to capture his attention. It was a pinch, and he glared at the hands for lack of ability to peer inside of himself. His skin felt tighter, and there was something similar to when he needed to feed burning under his fingertips, like he could reach out and snap at something for the feeling that had started in his chest.
