And she looks the thing in the eyes, wants to see it as it dies, and she knows that blue. She’s never seen that look in his eyes, but they’re his eyes, and she knows it, and she rockets back, feeling colder than she’s ever felt, even on that raft at the end of her life. Even now, where she can still feel the little girl in the cold forever.
That’s- not right. Not true. It can’t be right, or true, because it doesn’t make sense. Sharks don’t have Fin’s eyes. Fin can’t be a shark.
And yet, the longer Nova looks at the bleeding, gasping shark, writhing and choking on air, the more she is sure, in her gut, that that shark is Fin.
Nova’s killed him.

“Fin,” Nova manages, choked in a way that makes her want to kick herself. “Fin, I’m okay. I’ve heard worse.”
“You shouldn’t hear it at all,” he insists, pulling away, pacing the room in tight laps. “It’s stupid, and what’s their problem with a scar, anyways? It’s so-”
“Fin,” Nova interrupts, again, more firmly this time. “Hey. It’s fine. It’s not a pretty scar, and it’s in a visible spot, I know. I’m perfectly fine.”
“It’s a scar,” Fin huffs. “It looks like a scar. I don’t get it.”
or, five times nova tells some stupid story about her scar, and the time she tells the truth.

“Who is, then?” She asks, and it’s light, teasing, but it only seems to sadden him further. “Seriously, Fin, I don’t mind. They’re just kids, and you have so much on your plate, and-”
“You’re a kid too, Nova,” He tells her, and she knows she freezes in his arms, but to her relief, he doesn’t try to pull away, instead rubbing a hand up and down her back so gently she wants to cry. “You’re the same age as Matt. God, I can never stop thinking about it.”

They seem to realise what they’re doing at the exact same moment. Tubbo yanks his hands away, like he’s been burned. Tommy flinches away in turn.
“You’re supposed to be dead,” Tubbo repeats.
Tommy, unable to help himself, dryly replies: “Yeah, I’m starting to gather that.”
Tubbo reels back and punches him, hard, right in the eye.
So, some things could go through the green glass door. Grass, but not flowers. A happy person, but not a sad one.
or: tommy is tired enough before his dead best friend breaks into his home.
