Summary
“There are penalties for spying on council meetings. Charges of espionage and worse.”
Stepping away from the door, he turns toward the figure down the hall.
Wrathion. He should have known.
Wrathion stands against the wall with his arms crossed over his chest, a book in one hand – now dangling from his fingertips, as though Shaw’s appearance had interrupted him in the act of reading. He is the picture of casual nonchalance, though Shaw knows for a fact that it is all a ruse.
“Ahhh,” Wrathion croons in reply. “But does it still count as spying on the council if one is an advisor to the king himself? I suppose you would be the authority on the matter, Spymaster.”
________________
Wrathion thinks he is subtle, listening in on Shaw's latest council debrief on Anduin's current location and actions. He is most certainly not. Shaw gives him a taste of his own medicine and a little bit of advice.

Summary
“I thought I might find you here.”
Anduin glances up from where he sits, one emerald whelp curled on his knee, a blue precariously balanced on his shoulder and nibbling on the edge of his cloak. In his arms, there rests a little black whelpling, fast asleep.
Wrathion crosses to the bench beside Anduin, sitting down beside him and glancing down at the little one. He could wake her, but he chooses to leave her be.
“You’ll spoil them,” he says, keeping the timbre of his voice soft. He tells himself it is simply for the whelp’s benefit, and perhaps that is half true. There is also a part of himself he’s choosing not to linger on, which warms at the sight of it. Anduin, at last. Returned to him, safe and well. Mostly whole. Here at last.
________________Anduin sneaks away from his tour of the Dragon Isles to investigate the Little Scales Daycare. Wrathion discovers him there and keeps him company as they talk.

Summary
That winter, when Anduin had first started sharing a bed with Wrathion, it had been near-heavenly to discover the heat that rolls off of the dragon's skin. Like sleeping with his own personal hot water bottle. With Anduin’s tendency to run cold and ache in the winter months and Wrathion's tendency to burn like the sun, it had been a beautiful arrangement.
But here and now, with the near-liquid humid air of Stranglethorn Bay rolling up the coast and in through Anduin’s window, the dragon's lava-hot skin is making Anduin even stickier than he thought possible. The way Wrathion is pressed in so tightly against his side, it’s almost as if his life depends on their touch. Perhaps it does. Anduin is fairly certain he can feel his life draining slowly from himself, one way or another.
Another drip of sweat runs down Anduin’s face and he realizes that, unless he wishes to spend the rest of the night lying here feeling his energy deplete one slow trickle at a time, he is going to need to act. Now.
Anduin shifts under the sheet he is trapped beneath, attempting to free a hand.
Wrathion’s arm tightens.

Summary
“Your hands are quite warm,” he observes, softly.
“Naturally,” Wrathion replies, gruffly. Keeping his eyes safely on their hands, continuing with a bravado he does not entirely feel in the moment, “I am a dragon, after all. My blood is as fire. It would burn you to the touch.”
“Naturally,” Anduin repeats.

Summary
“The guards told me that I might find you here.”
Anduin stills, glancing up and across the distance toward him. There are dark, tired circles marring the skin beneath his pale blue eyes and bringing them in even starker contrast with his fair skin than usual. His face is flushed, his brows pinched together in obvious frustration, his light blond hair tied back from his face in its usual ridiculous little tail.
He is beautiful.
“I take it this morning’s council meeting did not go as planned…”
________________
Wrathion has come to Stormwind on a mission. Anduin has had a particularly bad day of council meetings. Wrathion is not as smooth as he might have hoped to be…
