Stiles can’t help the grin that spreads across his face. “Look at you. Mr Alpha, using his words, keeping the pack informed. Very responsible.”Derek doesn’t say anything, but his amused huff says it all.
“Can’t you just text me after?” Stiles asks, stepping out of the staffroom and into the hall. “I’ve got a mountain of paperwork I need to finish before next week.”
“I need you here, Stiles.”
Stiles feels his stomach swoop and warmth radiates through his chest.
“You’re my emissary.”
And just like that the warmth is gone. His chest cracks open and ice spreads through Stiles’ veins.
