“I’m not a fan, Charles.”
“Then who are you? Press? Paparazzi? A serial killer come to take me down?”
“Charles,” the blond woman whines. She sounds absolutely helpless and it kind of makes Charles want to comfort her. But then again, Charles is currently standing in her living room, covered only by her bedsheet, arguing with a woman she doesn’t know, who somehow broke into her apartment.
“Max,” she snarks back. “Who are you?”
“You wrote me last night! You made me come to life. You kissed me. I don’t know how else to explain it. I was words on a piece of paper, and a melody in your head. And when you played me last night, and then when you kissed your piano, I-,” Max stops, hesitates, “I don’t know, Charles. I am yours, that’s all I know.”
