Summary
For centuries Mystery rotted away.
Whether it was his mind and body, or just one of the two is debatable by any. But one thing remains the same, his place. He was a servant, a nobody, a demon. Compelled for the rest of eternity to bear his shame through the hideous magenta patterns forged on his body by Gwi-Ma's flames.
His body was a grotesque disfiguration to the once young and spry build he once yielded. Nobody could love such a hideous creature, not even himself.
But here, in the human world again after... half a millennium? It was torture.
Frozen in Hell, as he got to taste the sickening sweet addictions of Heaven; only to be stripped raw and aching of the experience afterwards.Gwi-Ma's punishments felt like harsh slaps on the wrist compared to this.

Anyways, I'm basically just a girl trying to improve her writing-- and KDH is the victim.

All Hermione Granger knew was that she was awake. That was it. That was everything.
People thought she was someone she wasn't. She wasn't sure anymore. She wasn't even sure if her life before, working as an Unspeakable, dating her boyfriend Ron Weasley, was real or a dream.
She was at Hogwarts. She was lying on the bathroom floor. She knew it wasn't the year she thought it was yesterday.
And someone else was here in the room. That was all she knew.

Mysterious thing, time. Powerful, and when meddled with, dangerous.
Hermione believes no truer words were ever spoken.
So, when she finds herself stuck in time- one before her own, she does what any logical, level-headed witch would do.
She plans. She hides.
Keeps well away from any significant occurrences during the time period, with hopes to find a way back to her own time.
And for a while, it works, this plan of hers.
That is, until Tom Riddle enters Flourish and Blotts on a particularly fine Tuesday afternoon, entirely derailing her efforts. -
