“What?”

“What’s something that turns you on that I don’t know about?”
Steve puts the question into the stagnant room, hot and humid like the rest of Hawkins in the summer. Above them, the ceiling fan spins in idle circles, moving the air to no avail. Eddie tears his eyes away from its hypnotizing spiral to look over at Steve.
Steve is already looking at him. His hair falls across his forehead, flat and unstyled. Eddie’s fingers itch to brush it out of his face, maybe tuck it behind his ear.
“Huh?”
“You heard me,” Steve says. “Tell me something that turns you on that you haven’t told me yet.”

Summary
That’s how Eddie had found Steve ten or so minutes later, leaning against the counter with a blue popsicle in his mouth. Eddie wasn’t fully dressed yet, still tugging his t-shirt over his head and buckling his belt. He’d frozen when he saw Steve.
“It’s nine in the morning,” Eddie said.
Steve shrugged. “And it’s hot. There a law against eating popsicles before noon that I don’t know about?”
“It’s nine in the morning,” Eddie repeated, sounding aggrieved. “It’s way too fucking early for this.”
(It’s summer in Hawkins. Steve and Eddie are dating. They’re doing a bad job of keeping it secret.)
