Summary
Wei Ying ‘marries’ Nie Mingjue in order to save the Wens, raises a son with him, and eventually figures out he’s love with both him and Lan Zhan. Lan Xichen is happy to fit there too.
The Wens decide to reinstall their Sect with Wen Ning as their leader, Jiang Cheng finally asks for Niè Huaisang’s hand in marriage, and the three of them find they work quite well together.
Mo Xuanyu is adopted by the Wens after being kicked out of Lanling Jin, finds a half dead Xue Yang by the road and tames him with sweets.
Jin Guangshan is miserable, Jiang Yanli is happy if her brothers are happy, and everyone lives happily ever after.

Summary
On Wei Wuxian's second night in Lotus Pier after being kicked out of his room by Jiang Cheng, he left to wander the compound. As he walked down a hallway he heard crackling behind him. He was struck twice with Zidian just a few weeks after developing a golden core, leaving him disabled permanently. Madam Yu had threatened his life if he ever said anything about what happened, so he stumbled through life with her seething at his heels. He didn't know what it felt like to be completely safe anymore.
At eight years old Lan Zhan spoke up. His mother had died only a month before, leaving him alone in the silence nobody else seemed to understand like her. He sat outside the Jingshi everyday that he broke no rules, hoping for her to come home and tell him he behaved well. Lan Qiren began to punish him with lines for this supposed rebellion, and eventually used the discipline stick. Lan Zhan lashed out, reciting every rule Lan Qiren broke since their mother's death, and used his minimal spiritual energy to snap the disapline stick in two. He was sent to solitude in his dead mother's house for a weeks time, forcing their abnormal heir out of the world's eyes. This was their preferred method from there on.

Xue Yang is the first and best disciple of the Yiling Patriarch. He is excellent at raising corpses, spectacular at making talismans and an expert swordsman.
He is also 11 years old, trying to raise a toddler and has been mistaken for a de-aged Yiling Patriarch.
Life is not going well.

Summary
Since the tender age of 9, Jiang Cheng has been convinced there is something growing within his chest.
He fancies it might be a rose bush, full of thorns that poke his lungs everytime his father praises Wei Wuxian while his mother compares his lacking skills to his adopted brother and his sister dotes on the older boy, first and foremost. Or maybe it's a cactus, one that parches his throat dry with a hacking cough when all his friends favor the cooler Jiang sibling and dismiss his minuscule insecurities. But sometimes he contemplates if it's poison ivy wrapping tightly around his esophagus, causing uncomfortable irritation when his childhood crush, flawless Lan Xichen doesn't notice him the way Jiang Cheng notices everything about the older boy.
He might not be certain what it is, but all he knows is that he is growing something so magnificent and indescribable.
And it hurts.
Yet no one believes him when he mentions the pain, when somedays the basic skill of breathing doesn't come easy. He catches the eye rolls, hears the scoffs, fumes at the blatant teasing, and clams up at the scolding he receives for his "exaggeration".
Though perhaps his imagination wasn't too far off the mark.

Wei Wuxian let out a frustrated huff as he picked up the cat, which was yowling in positively demonic tones. “Lan Er-gege, look at our adopted child.” he said, holding it by its upper body and dangling it back and forth, while its distressed meowing only multiplied in force. “It’s not in heat, is it?”
Lan Wangji was sitting placidly at his desk, barely sparing the cat a glance. “Animals can always be neutered.”
Jiang Cheng, upon hearing this, immediately shut up.

Summary
It’s a gentle sort of seclusion. It helps that they’re married, so “seclusion” is, by definition, not an entirely accurate description. A-Yuan comes and goes, but mostly he’s either trailing after Wen Qionglin, asking Lan Wangji every question he can think of, or screaming in delight as Wei Ying gardens. The screaming is mostly because Wei Ying keeps tossing him in the air, teaching him how to ride on Suibian, burying him among the flowers, and teaching him about the bugs they find.
But the summer of building the Wen village has faded into a fall that sees Cloud Recesses settling into a new era of peace has given way to an especially harsh winter.

Jiang Cheng has by now been deemed unmarriable, in part for his own fault, in part because Jin Ling and the Jiang Sect Disciples Do Not Like to share their beloved jiujiu/Sect leader. In the meantime, following the events at Guanyin temple, Jiang Cheng will try to mediate a possible rift between the Nie and the Lan clans. And whilst at it, he also resolves the marriage issue.
