It was especially difficult to get out of bed today. The cold, and the memories. I guess I can be sentimental, too, and say that I miss the excuse of your dead weight on top of me when I wanted to sleep in, when the sun was already high in its arc in the sky, when my sister would bang on my locked door to tell us that breakfast was ready. That was the year our dads were away and you stayed over almost every night. A lot of things changed that year. To borrow your phrasing: surely you remember that too.
It's the late 1950s. Euijoo and Yixiang find each other in stolen moments, and then in letters.

Summary
Suho feels a drop of rain fall from his bangs onto his upturned cheek. On instinct, he shakes his drenched hair out like an animal, watches as the water flies onto Sieun, down on the bench. Provoking, pushing Sieun’s buttons on purpose.
Sieun’s tiny smile shifts. His cleat moves up to Suho’s shin, his knee, then all the way up to his thigh; with it, he pushes Suho backwards until his back hits the other side of the tiny dugout. One of Suho's hands comes up to grip the metal gate behind him, steadying. Then, with his dirty shoe still on him, eyes bedroom-dark under his cap, Sieun says:
“Bad dog.”
Suho feels his face do something stupid. His dick does something even worse.
It’s the dog days of summer. Suho and Sieun try something new.

Summary
“Unclench, Sieun-ah,” Suho says, reaching out to grab for his catcher's mask, but Sieun just holds on tighter. Always so fucking stubborn. Usually it’s fine—endearing, even—but today it’s beyond frustrating. “Hey. Let me have it.”
Sieun doesn’t move, and he doesn’t say anything.
Suho and Sieun are on the same college baseball team. They lose a game, then they gain something else.

Summary
Nicholas leans against the concrete wall by the station. He has to look up to meet Euijoo’s eyes, just a tiny lift of his chin. Euijoo keeps seeing the vague outlines of what Nicholas is thinking seconds before he even thinks it. In this industry—in this awful, vapid industry—it’s a virtue. Euijoo hasn’t spoken to someone this open, who makes him want to open up like this in years.
“I guess I just keep wondering,” Nicholas says, shy and unflinching in equal measure, looking right at him. “Does anybody really know you?”
Byun Euijoo is an actor with walls a mile high. Enter Wang Yixiang, his new stylist.

Euijoo likes the control. Sometimes it even feels like he needs it. But sometimes—now, maybe—the idea of relinquishing it, of letting—no—trusting someone to hold onto him if he went away, if he let himself become untethered, what that could feel like, giving himself over, the onerous weight of everything just for a moment finally lifted—
Aloud, Euijoo says, “It’d be nice to not have to think about it, I guess.”
