Summary
Mydei and Phainon clear out some ruins together after being ordered by Aglaea to do so. While taking a rest, they are ambushed by soilders infulenced by the Strife Titan. Mydei is severely injured and Phainon must bring him home to Okhema safe and sound.
Phainon brings Mydei home safely, but learns about the serious condition Mydei is in from Aglaea's and Hyacine's observations. The Goldweaver orders that Mydei should be on bedrest for a couple of weeks, weeks turn into months. During this time, Mydei and Phainon get closer.
Phainon takes care of Mydei, helping him through his slow but painful recovery process. Even though Phainon tries to deny it, hes fallen for him, hard.

Summary
His muscles are made of steel, but steel requires proper tending. Water relaxes them, chasing away the proof of Phainon’s progress. Phainon’s hands relax them with their steady, knowing pathway, lips making them soft like moss.
Phainon’s body, too, is made of steel, his soul soft like pillows waiting for Mydei to collapse onto them.
The first time, Mydei told him that intimacy is nothing but learning the ways another body works—a good warrior learns and uses the knowledge, Deliverer.
I don't mind you knowing, he replied.
Phainon is for Mydei, even if Mydei doesn't know that he needs Phainon to be there for him.

Summary
Phainon closes his eyes and pictures the Blade of Fury in his mind, gold and bronze and flame, cast against the night sky like a meteor stalled in time.
“…Mydeimos. I need your help.”
He opens his eyes. For a moment, there is nothing, only the cold wind and the encroaching sound of death.
But only for a moment.
From the west, a divine light blooms, casting the billowing clouds a deep, bloody red.
Phainon sucks in a sharp breath.
Phainon has been reluctant to call upon Mydei since he'd left Okhema. It would be selfish, Phainon tells himself. When circumstance forces him to call out the name of his new god, Phainon is reminded of what he misses so dearly, but also of what he has gained.

Summary
Mydei turned around, intending to survey how many Titankin were left and to taunt Phainon with his kill count.
Instead, his breath left him and a frigid cold rocketed through his veins.
Phainon stood next to a ruined wall, corpses of Titankin littering the ground around him. His greatsword was buried in the chest of a dying Titankin before him. But despite a second foe rapidly approaching him, Phainon had not yet removed his sword from the corpse. Sweat beaded at his brow, and even at a distance Mydei could tell that his breathing was labored. His hands left the hilt of his sword, and Phainon stared down at them. A mix of confusion and fatigue spread across his face. He stumbled, knees unsteady.
The Titankin behind Phainon raised its weapon.
Mydei had seen this once before. A great warrior brought to heel by some strange, unexplainable force, a fugue state descending upon them.
His mother.
Phainon is poisoned while fighting Titankin, and Mydei relives his worst nightmare. Injuries need tending, and confessions of the past and present are made.
