Six years after he and Viktor part ways on antagonistic terms, Jayce wakes up in the Machine Herald’s medical clinic.
Jayce desperately wants to rub at his forehead, but the binding at his wrist stops him. He settles for squeezing his eyes shut. “Why?” he asks.
Viktor is silent for barely a moment. He says, tonelessly, “I assumed this was preferable to dying.”

Summary
Viktor emerges from the blinding white light made by the Arcane, even though he didn’t think he would.
He sits up, probably before he is ready, and his vision spins, gut twisting in warning. He blinks past the nausea, fights through the lightheadedness, enough so that he can glance around at his surroundings.
He is in a forest, at the edges of an empty clearing, not a building in sight, and Jayce’s body is limp a few feet away from him.

OR Jayce and Viktor wake up, different and slightly scarred, both convinced the other won't want them anymore.

But where he expects to see tired, amber eyes, he’s met by something else. Viktor’s eyes are white - a pair of hollow, colourless orbs staring back at him.
“Join me on the right side of evolution, Jayce.”
It’s only then that Jayce realises, brows creased in understanding, that the voice is coming from Viktor and the hexcore’s slick, as though they are one.
“...Viktor?” Jayce speaks, mouth twisting into a worried frown as he scans his partner's expressionless face. The purple light inside of Viktor glows once again, bright, humming, as if in response.
“Kneel.”

Or, Jayce has a pretty manic wet dream about Viktor (and the hexcore) after spending way too long waiting for him to wake up.

It takes Jayce’s shocked, frozen expression for Viktor to even realize that he has spoken aloud. Despite the long silence between them, Viktor doesn’t have enough time to formulate a strategy.
“No, you’re not,” Jayce says.
OR
Viktor is in love with Jayce. Jayce is convinced that he’s wrong.
