Chapter Text
Tommy watched as Techno left, he shifted a bit before glancing behind him at the room he’d been given- It was.. a lot compared to the room he had at Dream’s coven, a simple-sized mattress now replaced with a queen-sized bed that was covered in fluffy blankets and pillows- there was a closet and a bathroom attached to the room, a dresser a desk some shelves a window- Yeah it was a lot. At least for him. He hummed a song he’d heard before- You’re gonna go far or something like that as he moved over to the desk, not his. He wouldn’t be alive long enough for it to really feel like his.
He didn’t think he’d live long enough for this room to feel like home or to feel safe, He knew what happened to blood-ties he knew he was in trouble the moment he came here for simply being associated with Dream. He shook his head as he put his duffel bag down unzipping it to get his stuff. He placed the photo of him Purpled and Eryn on the desk shelf, looking at it somberly as he remembered the fact he hadn’t gotten to say goodbye.
He’d never see them again. Not in this life at least, maybe in their next lives, they can be puppies or cows together forever and never ever be separated by vampiric politics. He just wanted them here, they were what made a place feel like home. His eyes stung with tears as he squeezed them close a few slipping down his cheeks as he sniffled pitifully wiping them away.
He put the photo of his mom down at the desk as well, He never knew her but she felt important to him. Marechi was her name. He knew that he looked like her, He knew she’d been friends with Purpled’s mom before Purpled’s mom killed herself. And that’s about it. He didn’t know a lot about his mom and for some reason that upset him.
He set the toiletries in the bathroom before neatly folding his clothes so he could put them away in his dresser. Before he got to the last item, Henry. The stuffed cow plushie that meant the absolute world to him, One of the only comforts in his life of misery shame, and torment. Henry was worn and brown and well-loved but he was Tommy’s and that’s what mattered.
He put Henry into the bed snuggled under the covers as he hesitantly sat on the bed, it dipped with his weight as the soft mattress made him untense a bit, It was soft and comfortable and something he didn’t deserve. He’d expected a basement or something along those lines not actual comfort. He moved to sit at the headrest a blanket or maybe two in his lap as he set Henry on the soft blankets, he smiled softly running a hand over Henry’s ripped-apart left ear, it’d been torn during a trip with Dream and he just never had the capabilities to fix it.
It’s been around an hour of getting used to his new surroundings before he heard it. He looked up as a knock rang through the room, “come in..” he said softly as the door opened revealing none other than Philza— Tommy tensed up immediately although knowing Philza would be coming it still brought a feeling of absolute dread to his stomach because whenever Dream came to see him it was never good and he was monologuing and panicking and he needed to calm down NOW because this wasn’t something to panic about so why was he freaking out?!?!
He was dragged out of his thoughts as Philza sat at the end of the bed, smiling with too many too sharp to be human teeth as he turned to face Tommy slipping off his sandals so he didn’t track dirt into Tommy’s bed as the ancient vampire sat crisscrossed on the soft bed. “Hiya mate. I know we didn’t really get to talk a whole lot during the ceremony so I figured I could get to know you now, that alright?” Philza asked curiously
“Yessir,” Tommy said obediently nodding his head quickly. “Alright, who’s your little friend here?” Philza asked curiously as he tapped a pale finger against Henry’s warm brown fur. “Henry..” he answered quietly. “Nice name, He looks like a Henry, You got a favorite food?” Philza asked. “I like mandarins,” Tommy replied back. “Oh those are good, I eat them sometimes despite not needing human food,” Philza said with a laugh as Tommy found himself ever so slightly untensing at how- human Philza seemed. “What’s your favorite color?” Philza inquired, “Red.” He replied. “Cool! Mines green.” Philza responded, “You like music?” Philza asked curiously, “Mhm..” He murmured back. “Do you have any allergies? Like peanuts shellfish?” Phil- no no nono NO do not call him Phil do not get comfortable with the vampire who holds your very life in his hands do not let your guard down he’s trying to get your guard down so when he stabs a knife into your back it’ll hit your heart when he does- Tommy thought in rapid fire as his eyes widened ever so slighty.
“No.” He responded back calmly. “Good, We have a human— Mumbo, He’s allergic to peanuts,” Philza said nonchalantly. “You like video games?” Philza asked curiously. “Never got to play one..” He answered truthfully. “That’s a shame, maybe you and Ranboo should play together sometime.” Philza said sadly “Who-“ Tommy clamped his teeth on his tongue as he realized he’d spoken out of term. “Who- what? Cat got your tongue mate? Go ahead and ask.” Philza said reassuringly as Tommy hesitated. “Who’s Ranboo?” He asked softly. “Ranboo is Techno’s fledgling, He’s around your age in human years” No he’s not, Dream lied to you. Tommy thought back bitterly. “And you’d two would probably get along nicely, We were actually planning on letting you meet him if you’re comfortable?” Philza asked with a head tilt.
Tommy hesitated, he didn’t want to meet this vampire fledgling. But it’s what Philza and seemingly Techno wanted.. and Who was Tommy a mere mortal boy— their bloodtie, to deny them?
“Sure..” he replied softly.
