Chapter 2: One Step Closer

Chapter Text

It was like walking through the void, a vast nothingness surrounded Alexandria as she called out Arthur's name. Her voice never rang out, a deafening static silence overwhelming her senses. A migraine was blooming in her head behind her eyes, meaning it was almost time for her to leave.
Just a little more... She pushed on, wandering the emptiness searching for something, anything. Sometimes she would find glimpses of memories, fractured and hollow. They felt burnt around the edges, half there. Those flickering moments reminded her that Arthur was still there, buried deep in techrot and helminth flesh.
It was like a lightning strike behind her eyes, sending her spiraling to the floor. She had to go for now, but she would return again. She had to.
In a burst of void light, she returned to the Orbiter. Dazed look on her face, an angry migraine behind her eyes and in her temples. The warframe next to her hadn't changed, hadn't moved. She groaned and pulled herself to her feet, making her way into the side room that Alice had made her room out of.
Alexandria leaned against the doorway, the hiss of the door catching Alice’s attention. She looked up with a concerned hum.
“Entrati can reverse it. I know it.” Alexandria looked mad, hair sticking up in odd places and heavy bags under her eyes. She hadn't slept in days, and Alice knew that.
“A-Alex… I d-don't think that’s a g-good idea…” Alice stood from her pile of floofs, making her way to the crazed woman. “H-he hasn't been s-seen in a-ages, how w-would you e-even find h-him…?”
“There has to be something in the Sanctum Anatomica. He was to make for Tau but… he can't leave before tying loose ends.” Alexandria paced around the Orbiter, but before long she had settled on the Arsenal. She pulled the long forgotten set on Sun and Moon blades and her Sirocco from it, she was ready for a fight no matter what.
Alice sighed, crossing her shaky arms as she watched Alexandria essentially hijack and take her Liset. Alice looked to Umbra with a defeated look, and all he could do was shrug. He led the operator back to her personal room to begin some tea, it was going to be a long, long day.

The ship’s Cephalon, Rhea, was easy enough to work with. They were off towards the Sanctum in a matter of minutes, blazing across solar rails as Alexandria paced back and forth. Entrati changed them into Warframes, he had to be able to reverse it. At least somewhat…
