The towering walls of water surrounding the Great Hall had always seemed like a grand protector to Agott; they meant safety from the Brimmed Caps and prying eyes, along with being all she had ever known. Whenever she had a free moment, she would wander through the streets until she met the misty border of the space her kind had carved into the waves. The filtered light shining down sparkled, and she loved to watch the sea creatures swim by. Lately, though, the sparkling currents had turned to spotlights on all of her many faults.
After being shunned by her family Agott seeks out another witch who can help her. (aka origin story for Agott joining Qifrey's atelier!)

Hello! I wrote this during summer of 2023 when Witch Hat Atelier had no more than a 100 fics to its tag (crazy right).
I lost sight of it a long time ago and kind of abandonned it (forgot the meaning of the story too). I don't think I'll ever finish it but I remember being very proud of my writing (I'm not english and I had failed the Cambridge english exam by two points) so I thought I still share it here.One of these days I think I'll write well again, and then I'll come back to this fandom. Mind you, this is most likely not the most gut-wrenching book you've ever read, but I was really really proud of it.
Also, it might be confusing. The story goes backward. You're almost at the end when reading the chapter (jk)(maybe not.)
It puts my mind at ease to know someone will read it. That way I won't feel like I wasted a character that I loved deeply, without her even existing.

What constitutes a fairytale?
Many would offer the basic answers: a hero who slays a monster to save a damsel in distress, or goes on a journey full of the strange and fantastical.
To Kaveh, a fairytale meant peace, quiet, and being able to work with zero issues. To him, a fairytale was romance, magic and wonder given form.
To Alhaitham, fairytales were not real. After all, what was so strange and mystical about a land that already had magic and monsters to begin with? Fairytales, to him, only had merit if they were proven to have been true.
That's why, to him, their mundane life together in this small Atelier in the countryside was already more than enough. If he could call it that, this was his fairytale.
