For a moment, Obi-Wan feels a flicker of relief, a fragile thread of hope that maybe, just maybe, they will understand.
“However, the upcoming operation could very well determine the entire course of the war.” Windu continues, tone heavy with gravity. “Tell me, Obi-Wan, can you assure me - with absolute certainty - that if Skywalker is injured, you will not act … unwisely?”
“More important is,” Master Yoda adds, his ears lifting ever slightly, “if hurt, you are, Skywalker’s behaviour, remain wise, will it, hmm?”
On the eve of a major battle, the Jedi Council orders Master Kenobi to cut the lingering training bond with his former padawan.

He pulls the trigger.
“Threat neutralized, head back to the ship.” The squad saluted, turned, and marched. Synchronized down to the breath, it was all they had been brought here to do, assert dominance and terrify the villagers who had unknowingly or knowingly been living with a Jedi. Their own questioning and punishment would come later, for now eliminating the threat had been their priority. Like most sightings, at least within the last couple months, this one could hardly be called that. Short and scrawny, whimpering and shaking as they held a weapon that would soon be another addition to the wall that housed it’s villainous siblings. Brothers and sisters, falling together. A symbol of the Empire’s reach and reign.
And all it had taken was one shot, three seconds, so quick the Jedi hadn’t even moved into form, a shot right between their eyes and they had crumpled, like the previous and the next. PT-2224 was flawless, his blaster heavy and warm in his hand, this is why he was the primary on these missions. He was effective, quick, and anything the Empire needed him to be.
(The chips have a shelf life, Cody wasn't supposed to stay alive long enough to figure that out)
