If he’s crying when he reaches the sanctuary, neither Alex or Lando say a goddamn word. Max is pulled from his arms with alarming force, causing Charles to fall forward onto his knees with Lando quick to his side. Distantly, above Lando’s soft murmurs of comfort and the feverish beating of his own heart in his ears, he thinks he hears Alex say, “I’ve got a pulse!”

In a post-apocalyptic world, a genetic birth defect begins to run rampant. Some humans are born with wings, which are worth an alarming amount of money on the black market. Not only that, but featherdust is essential for the creation of very popular illicit substances. Angels are hunted down for their wings and left for dead like their lives mean absolutely nothing at all. Thankfully, among the horrors of such a lawless world, vigilantes pop up to try and help these poor angels live out the lives they're entitled to lead. It's an all out war, and it's one that will see no end any time soon.
