The one on the bed felt confused anew, the deceptively seductive expression falling, morphing into something akin to annoyance. “Shy, are we?”
“Not quite.” He mused. “I am here to use your time otherwise.” Pure Vanilla reached for the pocket in his clothes beneath the cloak. A small book was taken out, hand sized yet thick.

White paint chipped off to reveal the wood beneath, glass in the windows missing and stained lace curtains blowing in the wind.
The pathway through the tall gras was winding like a snake, every turn waiting with surprises, a dead bird, a dried-up puddle.
On the second to last turn before he reached the house Bob suddenly was face to face with a deer. Brown fur dusted with white dots, ears and nose twitching as it stood there, completely frozen. Warm brown eyes wide in fear, while Bob mirrored the animal, standing completely still until…
A shot rang over the grass field only to be stopped at the tree line and in the next second the deer was gone.
