Momo, Hibiya, and Hiyori had since migrated to sitting on a chair-esque piece of rubble by the time they returned. Momo jumped up when she saw everyone coming. "Wow, you guys took forever! This rock is literally giving me back pai—" Her voice cut off as she spotted the boy in Seto's arms. "...Since when were we kidnapping people?"
The battle with the Clearing Eyes is over, the tragedies of August 15 drawing to a close. Everything should’ve been over, at least, but the Mekakushi Dan found something unexpected within the depths of the lab: a person, taken as a test subject.
One Kisaragi Shintaro seems to recognize.

After they found Hiyoris corpse in front of the forest cabin, in which the Dan had planed to spend their summer holidays, Momo and Hibiya decidet to get to the bottom of things. Determined to find out in which of their friends Clearing Eyes was hiding, they both start their investigations and try to prevent future victims.

when i was 12 years old i died. my body was crushed under the weight of a kei truck.
i died on impact. the driver had lost control of his vehicle, and a failure in its breaks caused the truck to careen towards me. he had tried to turn out of the way, causing the truck to make impact and drift leftwards, making a large sweeping motion like window wipers. it spun 168 degrees, smearing burnt rubber against the street, screaming and screaming until it jolted and came to a stop.
from where he was standing, he should’ve died. and in a way, i suppose he did. my arm had been torn from the grasp of his hand, and by all means, the truck should’ve hit him. i’m certain it did hit him. that’s when he first died. he died with me. he died several times before and several times after. the person his parents knew from birth to his 11 years of age was torn to shreds with my body.
