“I know.” Tommy’s expression drops a bit. “But we can’t let those bitches scare us Sam!”
That's the thing. Sam is scared, the world is a wasteland. A bowl of dust. There’s not many places to hide and there’s nowhere to run with hordes of infected around every corner. The world isn’t kind to anyone anymore. Almost all the goodness left had rotted away.
Tommy is scared too, Sam can tell by that smile he plasters on like armour. Both of them are just holding it together.
“There’s a difference between being scared and being safe, and frankly we need to be both.” Sam sighs.
_Tommy and Sam don;t know who's keeping who safe.

Or: Techno gets a new ghosty roomie and he's not mad about it. Though the same can't be said for his visitors.
Or: Sapnap kills Dream and because of the Death Book and Revive Book things get complicated, resulting in a ghost giving some smp members a good scare.
Dream’s eyes open again and he glares up at him, “Techno?”
“Yeah?” Techno offers, studying his shiny jade eyes and trying to ignore how limp the body in his arms is. How icy his skin feels. How faint his heart beat is. How every breath and word seems to be an arduous task.
“‘I h’v’ a h’use.”
A laugh rips out of Techno’s throat, “Oh yeah, then why did you come to my house?”

“I can’t.” He nudged the cat’s ear with his fork.Dead eyes stared back at him.
“Why?” It sneered, looking over his shoulder at the plate. “Not good enough for you?” Sam shook his head.
“It’s cold.” It hummed affirmatively.“I’ll have to get you a new plate then.” It left without leaving, having a presence in the room just as potent in It’s absence as when It came back.
A new plate took the old one’s place, the body much fresher and still leaking vines of blood.
“Thank you.” He whispered. It smiled. It always liked when he was polite.“You’re welcome. Now go do what I told you.”
Sam nodded, because what else could he do?
It stabbed a vine through his throat.

Phil should have known, should have seen the signs. Perhaps he should have had more faith in his old friend. But that doesn't matter anymore. When the hero prodigy Avian came running to him and his family, he protected the kid, now known as Tommy without a second thought.
So it doesn't matter if the Warden's intentions are good, or if he's only about to return Tommy to his abusers. Phil isn't letting that failure of a hero anywhere near his youngest child.
