“Hi,” The man said, leaning over the counter at him with a slight smirk. “Tequila, please.”
“Evan,” Evan blurts out, handing him his drink. Their fingers brush, sparks tingling down Evan's wrist at the touch, as the stranger takes it with a wink.
“Hi Evan, I’m Eddie.”

Summary
Bobby lives. Eddie comes back. Buck falls apart anyway.
---
Buck wishes he could stuff it all down so no one can see and be cool and competent, and then explode alone so no one else knows. But he’s Buck, he jumps out of trees and crashes motorcycles and screams I’m hurt, look at me, love me, and he doesn’t know how to do anything else.
“Are you and Dad fighting?”
Fuck, he hadn’t realized that Chris could hear them. Buck looks at Chris. A couple years ago, he could’ve said no, bud, just grown-up stuff, but he won’t do that to Chris. “No,” he says. It starts with Buck trying to cope.
It ends with hugs, tears, revelations and a nap.Or:
"Buck hasn't been sleeping.
He tried. He really did. But every time he lays down, he just ends up staring blankly at one of the walls, not noticing time pass, until the alarm goes off and he has to get ready.
It's fine, really. It's not like he's not getting any sleep at all, it's just less. A few hours here and there, mostly naps."Or:
Buck ignores four stages of grief and tries to jump straight into acceptance. Too bad the thing he's accepting hasn't actually happened. Too bad he trips and lands ass first in denial about that part.Series

Summary
Buck can't recall how it started, or how he got here, sitting there in the back of an ambulance, as paramedics he doesn’t know try to separate him from Jee.
"No," He manages to gasp out, pulling his niece tighter to him. "No, you can't... you can't have her. She's... she's mine. I promised."
He doesn't remember who he promised, or what he promised, but that doesn't matter now. He promised and he was going to keep it. Even if it killed him. Why hadn't it killed him? Why was he still here? No one else really was.

Summary
A whine unraveled in his throat. “This isn’t—why can’t you just—just go home!” Shaking his head, he twisted his fingers into Tommy’s shirt, refusing to let go, as the internal battle tearing him apart continued to rage. “I don’t—I don’t deserve this!”
“Shh, hey, easy,” Tommy said, tone taking on an edge of soft demand. “Breathe with me, Evan—because right now, the way I see it, me leaving? Not gonna happen—at least anytime soon. And especially when I think you’re full of shit.”
He pressed his forehead into the crook of Tommy’s neck, fingers like claws in the man’s shirt, refusing to let go. If anything, he got closer—clung harder—not allowing Tommy to leave even if he tried.
An exploration of what it means to love, including the fear that comes with allowing those ugly bits of yourself to seen for the first time and learning to overcome it. A story of snotty tears and broken bones, handholding and lashing out, two people who might just be a little bit broken proving what the power of love can do

What if the Lawsuit never happened? What if Buck had a secret life as a SEAL that he can not legally talk about it without seriously endangering himself or his teammates? What if Bobby finally lets him back the same day Buck finds out he is being shipped back out for deployment since his team leader is finally healed and the team is all healthy?
How long will it take the 118 to notice Buck is 'Missing' but when they try to report him, they have NCIS Agents and CIA agents tell them to back the hell off and that they have it handled? Will Athena and the 118 drop it just like that or do they do some stupid shit trying to find out where the youngest member is.

Summary
Fine. Eddie is obviously intent on having this conversation. That doesn’t mean Buck has to be compliant with it. “I don’t want that.”
“Yes, you do.” Eddie pauses so he can shift up in the bed just the tiniest bit more. “Buck, you need a partner. You need someone who’s there for you as much as you are for them. And being a single dad is so different from co-parenting. Don’t try to say that isn’t what we’ve been doing, because it is. You’ve been co-parenting Chris for years. And I’m sorry I might not be there to do it with you anymore.”
“STOP.” Buck doesn’t yell very often, but he can’t contain his knee-jerk reaction to hearing Eddie admit defeat. He takes a deep breath and looks at Eddie’s face, full of understanding and sorrow. “Please, stop. I can’t. Eddie, I can’t listen to you talk like that.”
OR: Eddie comes down with an unknown illness. Buck tries his best to cope and take care of Chris, while also wondering if he might lose Eddie before he's told him how he feels.
