He gasped for breath. Gentle hands gripped his shoulders and kept him from collapsing into the unnatural blue substance oozing onto the ground.
“Better now?” said Dream’s voice, and Tommy nodded shakily, even though the player he’d glimpsed a moment ago was definitely not Dream.
Not-Dream helped him to his feet and guided him gently away from the puddle of sick. Tommy managed a few steps before he had to sink to his knees and catch his breath.

In the aftermath of exile, Tommy starts to understand the bigger picture. Somehow, it’s far worse than he had ever imagined. And Tommy can imagine quite a lot (or maybe it wasn’t his imagination after all).

Bad crouched down next to Callahan, pointing up into the walls of netherrack that boxed them all in. “It’s inside a cavern in that wall. You see that cliffside all the way up there?” Tina’s eyes locked on where Bad’s clawed finger pointed at.
It was high.
Impossibly high.
“Go down a few tunnels and you’ll find your portal.”
Callahan kept nodding, eyes trained on the cliffside, as if it would disappear if he looked away for even a second. After he was treated, Tina served him some hoglin stew, but Callahan shook his head and pushed the bowl away.

Or, Tina is a demon living with her nomadic clan. One day, she stumbles upon Callahan close to burning alive by the lava fires, and she takes him in.

The angel shrugged. “Why, do the walls have ears? Besides, XD’s so busy with finding HD, I don’t think they care much what others have to say about the matter. It’s not like they’ll take my voice or anything.”
Callahan shuddered internally. Having your voice taken away by XD was one of the worst punishments, mainly because you were forced to do server duty after becoming mute. Which, obviously made it harder to keep the server’s members in line. You had to resort to sign language, or handwritten signs, to communicate with members, and writing signs took time. There was also no guarantee that any members would know sign language anyways.
