Summary
"Nicknamed 'Barker' because of the noise produced when firing, and the shape of its large muzzle. This pistol was conceived, crafted, and held by Carl Eldritch, second leader of the Guard of Priwen. Heavy, not very accurate, and supplied with a customized magazine, it is a gun designed to quickly make many big holes in its target. Carl Eldritch asked to be buried with his gun, so as to be able to shoot himself in case a vampire would trick him by somehow offering him the poisonous gift of immortality. However, the gun was mysteriously stolen before the funeral, never to be seen again."
Jonathan Reid is not evil, not by half, but he has been removed from the world of humans and their consequences. Immortality has granted him a new perspective, and the desires that once seemed impossible to admit even to himself now seem a trivial thing.
Now Reid finds himself in possession of something that Geoffrey McCullum - the most powerful hunter on the continent and perhaps Reid's one and only equal - would sell his soul to recover.

Summary
Geoffrey grumbled, clutching the neck of the whiskey bottle like an old friend as he wavered in its ascent to his lips. He'd only been nursing it for half an hour since he'd wandered away from Carl after their impromptu spat. The "family" dinner turned bitter after the elder man started in on another one of his tangents about Geoffrey's wastefulness in regards to time and energy.
He busted his arse through high school but because he failed to make honors, he obviously hadn't applied himself. He slogged through college and got a generic bachelor's degree in bonafide bullshit and tumbled out of there with less knowledge and more student debt than he could handle, stumbling his way into a nine to five job with thankless hours, an arsehole boss and obnoxious coworkers that make him want to scream his head off.
Not much drove him to befriend a bottle but as of late, he and the glass vessel had become far closer than he'd like to admit as he relished in the familiar burn down his throat. Maybe drinking in a public park wasn't the most appropriate place to indulge in his bad decisions but he was too far past caring.

Petrescu’s Print Shop Prompt #1:
First Pet
Carl Eldritch never allowed pets in the barracks. It was a rule young Geoffrey felt was inexplicably unfair for there were so many lost and stray critters out on the unforgiving streets of London just waiting for some love and warmth. For protection against the vile leeches lurking in the shadows looking to get a quick fix.
In truth, Geoffrey McCullum felt that humans were too unpredictable and selfish to be considered at all superior to any other species.

Summary
"Do you not think he will kill you where you stand?" Jonathan asks.
Edgar allows himself a private smile. "Funny you should mention it—I asked him once what he would do if I were a vampire. He said he would give me an hour, for old times' sake."

Summary
Now, when Geoffrey imagined himself discovering the existence of something other and unique to humanity, he had imagined it with more finesse and extravagance, a bit more grandeur maybe? Was that too much to ask for? Instead, he found the bright beady eyes of a large fuzzy creature clinging to his second floor window, rattling the frame in a desperate attempt to, he assumed, get inside his house. The wind was fierce as the creature hunkered against it with a pitiful whine and ducked its head with a meekness that was almost heartbreaking. But Geoffrey wasn’t stupid enough to have a bleeding heart convince him to open his window to a strange beast.
