It’s easy to get into the holiday spirit when snow settles over a tranquil Piltover like a blanket of powdered sugar, the city blossoming with an angelic glow. Caitlyn plans to spend her Christmas break mostly at Piltover Central Library enjoying mugs of hot chocolate hand mixed by her coworkers (though the reality of throwing shitty powder into a lukewarm cup of water almost ruins the mood). The days are monotonous, but exactly what she needs after a semester of grinding through Othello excerpts.
Then ex-convict Vi becomes the new trainee. Vi, who dogears pages and spills coffee every other brew, makes quick work of her once calm workdays.
And so, even when Caitlyn believes she’s long surpassed the need for any sort of training after months of perusing aisles, scanning barcodes, and correcting labels, she finds herself struggling with one final lesson: reading between the lines.
