Summary
Derek Hale has always known two things about himself: He's not good at making people like him, and he's going to be his sister's second for the Sacramento pack. But when a random assignment leads him to be the new alpha of Beacon Hills, dealing with far too big shoes to fill and a new pack orphan that everyone listens to far more than they do him, he thinks it's his big chance to finally prove his worth to his mother. Besides, it's not forever, is it?
Stiles Stilinski has always known two things about himself, too: Being the son of the alpha is a Big Job, and it's his to do, and one day, his mate will be the next alpha of his mother's pack. But when his parents are murdered, and some growly man with expressive eyebrows unwillingly takes her place, he's got two choices: keep glaring at Derek or teach him to man up. At least until he's found a replacement. How long could that take?
This is a story about building a pack, finding a home and cuddling with a dog. It's mostly about the dog.

Summary

Derek isn't doing well on the test the Alpha Pack puts him through and Deucalion is getting bored, until he meets someone interesting in a bookstore who catches his attention.

Stiles Stilinski has gotten pretty decent at this whole 'magic is real and my best friend is a werewolf' thing. Even with the disadvantages of being mostly human surrounded by werewolves, he's dealing with it pretty well. When Jackson goes missing, it's only a matter of time before matter is resolved by the Pack, and some things might come to light during and or after that.

Summary
It has been months of Stiles trying to warn the pack that Theo isn't the Theo he knows.
