The reason I wrote this book is because I seriously love the Inheritance Cycle and need more good Eragon stories to read on AO3. (More specifically, stories about Murtagh) So, I decided to write what happened after the new Murtagh book by Christopher Paolini. YES, I am including some crossovers- I won’t say what movies just yet but two characters NOT from the Eragon franchise will appear-, but yeah. For more info on Murtagh and the other Inheritance Cycle characters, see down below: CHARACTER INFORMATION.
Also, the not Inheritance Cycle character is Murtagh’s love interest. (Instead of Nasuada, yes, I know that Murtagh/Nasuada shippers will be mad, but I don’t care)

Summary
Three years after the fall of Galbatorix, Murtagh is sent by Eragon to act as the rider liaison to Iliria. Murtagh and now-Queen Nasuada become reacquainted with each other, and must decide if they have a future together. Murtagh struggles with the past, feeling that he can't give Nasuada everything she deserves, and Nasuada has to balance her duties as Queen with the desires of her heart.
(This is Part 3 of a canon-compliant series following Murtagh Post-Inheritance. The first two parts are "Tornac of the Road" and "The Dark Hours". You can enjoy this story by itself, but some background and contextual things will not make sense.)

The New Order of the dragon riders is growing, life is ordinary, and Alagaësia is peaceful, but there is an adventure they would like to embark on. Moving past the heartbreak of two miscarriages at the beginning of their relationship, and the knowledge that conceiving for them is difficult, Eragon and Arya will try to fulfil their desire to be parents. Will they defeat the odds?
The story, ideally, takes place after the amazing work “Of Poems and Maps”. It is not strictly necessary to have read it first, but my story contains multiple references to life events Eragon and Arya went through in that fic. It begins around 10 years after "Of Poems and Maps" events and it explores one storyline the author left open.
